Vydavis Anthony



September 21st, 1928 – April 24th, 2017





Mrs. Vydavis Anthony, daughter of the late Mr. J.D. and Annie Pearl (Hall) Williams, was born September 21st, 1928 in Colquitt Georgia. She was raised on a farm while attending public school. On January 23rd, 1944, she joined in holy matrimony with Robert Anthony. She was married for 57 years until his death September 3, 2001. In 1945, the couple moved to Macon Georgia where they began to raise a family of their own. The family then moved to Florida in 1953. Together, the couple had four children. Vydavis worked at the Historic Floridian Hotel downtown Tampa Florida and the county hospital for many years before starting her own business. In 1972, Vydavis and Robert Anthony began their own business known as E&B Market. She will always be remembered for her generosity and love for her children.



Vydavis Anthony is survived by her four children, Annie Lois (Paul) Creal, Bob (Janice) Anthony, James (Lillie) Anthony, and Sylvia Vickers; 16 grandchildren: Venus McIver, Victoria McMillian, Vincent Creal, Sharon, Steven, Sheldon, Shane, Charles and Brandy Anthony, John and Derick Dixon, Cory Williams, Amber, James, and Jason Anthony, Devin and Kadijah Vickers.



Six sisters: the late Ophelia Peterson of Colquitt Georgia, Elaine McGhee of Cleveland Ohio, Emma Wiley, Eloise Anthony and Wilhemenia Jackson (Charles) all of Albany Georgia, the late Patricia Williams of West Palm Beach Florida; nine brothers: the late J.D. (BOON) Williams Jr. of Colquitt Georgia, the late Troy Williams (Arlene) of Cleveland Ohio, J.B. Williams (the late Dina) of Tampa Florida, Ben Williams and the late Gerald Williams (Sally) all of Albany Georgia, Harvest Williams (Jurya) of Donaldsonville Georgia, Horace Williams (Phyllis) of Dothan Alabama, Hermon Williams (Crystal) of Haperville Georgia. She also leaves a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.



Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Friday, May 5, 2017 at Blount & Curry, Terrace Oaks Chapel, Temple Terrace. The family is requesting everyone to meet for the funeral service at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Exalted Word Ministries Church, 2808 S. Kingsway Rd, Seffner.
