Wallace Eugene “PaPa” Leavine, 94, of Tampa went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 25, 2017. Papa was born in Tampa to the late William and Ruby Leavine. Wallace proudly served in the U. S. Marine Corp during WW II fighting in Okinawa and throughout the south pacific. Wallace loved his Lord Jesus and strove to serve him all of his life. He served as an elder and then as an elder emeritus at Trinity ARP church for close to 50 years. Wally and his wife started the popular Travel Club at Trinity; providing fellowship and fun to retirees within their North Tampa community. Wallace adored and is survived by his wife of 74 years (Betty Jean). Wallace loved all of his children and their spouses: Michele (and Rick) Dixon, Madlyn Leavine, Gay (and Frank) Carter, Chip (and Traci) Leavine. He delighted in and enjoyed every one of his seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren. Wallace will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, but his suffering is over and we know because of his faith in Jesus that he is among a host of family and friends that he dearly loved. “PaPa” was laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 3:30pm on July 9, 2017, at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 14925 North Boulevard, Tampa. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Samaritans Purse International Relief Ministry.mic https://www.samaritanspurse.org/memorial-page/wallace-leavine-tampa-fl
