Walter Cameron Hudnall, 67, of Belle, passed away on March 21, 2011.

Walter was born January 3, 1944 in Charleston. He was a preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Helen Hudnall of Belle.

Survivors include his son, Jason Hudnall and his fiancée, Jackie Chapman, of Ashland, Kentucky; ex-wife, Barbara; very special people in his life, Danny Bowles of Charleston and Jason Childers of Michigan.

Walter worked for 5 years for Consolidation Coal Company as supervisor at Salley Buffalo Park in Cadiz, Ohio, returning to West Virginia in 1977. He was a surface mine inspector for 20 years, and the remaining years of his career, he was the training director of surface mining operation for the WV EPA.

Walter was active in the Kanawha Valley Central Little League, serving as president for 5 years. He also served as a coach for their baseball and football associations. Walter was a member of the NRA and past president of the National Wild Turkey Association of Kanawha County.

His passion was hunting and fishing. He loved Michigan salmon and steelhead fishing as well as the mountains of West Virginia, where he spent his time fishing, bear and deer hunting. His beloved farm in Putnam County was where he enjoyed being with his friends and hunting associates.

According to Walt’s wishes, his body will be cremated and taken to places dear to him, his son, Jason, and Danny Bowles.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with Steve Boggs officiating.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
