Walter was born on October 28, 1917 and passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2016.

Walter was a resident of Greenville, South Carolina at the time of his passing.

He graduated from McColl High School, McColl, SC and attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and the Air University.

Walter enlisted at Fort Bragg as an Aviation Cadet in 1942. The Lord already had his hand on Walter's life. He carried a New Testament with him on 35 flying missions. During World War II, he received three oak leaf clusters, a good conduct medal and the theatre ribbon with eight bronze stars. He was given an honorable discharge in 1945. After being discharged, he was asked to work for the Department of the Air Force as an instruction in the requirement department in the aircraft maintenance field sand did so until 1976. He retired after 31 years of service.

He was married to Betty.

Visitation will be held Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 2:00 to 2:45 p.m. in the gathering place at Taylors First Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.Upcoming Events
