Walter was born on February 24, 1936 and passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018.

Walter was a resident of Burkburnett, Texas at the time of passing.

Growing up in Burkburnett, Walter graduated from Burkburnett High School where he was an All District Varsity Football player for the Burkburnett Bulldogs.

After graduating high school, Walter worked as a Glazier several years before joining the United States Army where he was honorably discharged after serving a total of six years, two active, two active-reserve and two non-active.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clara with Pastor Sam Wirgau, officiating. Interment will follow at Clara Cemetery in Clara, Texas under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Burkburnett. He is survived by his son, Mike Myers and wife Pat of Wichita Falls; his daughter, Shannon Sheffield of Arlington; five grandchildren, Marisa Vigil, Shane Dobbs, Joshua Sheffield, Kevin Jessup, and Jason Jessup; three great-grandchildren, Anthony Myers, Joslyn Vigil and Haiden Dubose.
