Wanda Jean "Sis" Morgan, 87, of Weirton died Tuesday after a brief stay, at The Laurels of Steubenville, OH. Born on May 16, 1927, in Colliers, WV, Wanda was the daughter of the late Hugh and Clara McGovern Thompson. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon J. Smarrella in 1998, her husband, Edward A. Morgan, Jr. in 2001; her brother, Bill Thompson, and her two half brothers, Jerry and Eddie McGowan. During World War II, Sis was a buggy driver for the Weirton Steel Company. She also worked at the G.C. Murphy Five and Dime, on Main Street, Weirton. But, most of her life, she took care of her home. She was a member of Cove Presbyterian Church, Weirton, American Legion and VFW Ladies Auxiliaries; Moose 688. Sis is survived by her son, Edward A. Morgan, III (Cindy) of Weirton, WV; her son in law, Eugene Smarrella; her grandchildren, Richie (Lynn) Milbert, and Kamela (Matt) Niskach; her great grandchildren, Kendall, Richard, Deseree, Brandy, and Devin; great great grandchildren, Austin, Layla, Aleah, Jayden, and Max. Visitation will be 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM and 7;00 – 9:00PM Thursday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, where funeral services will be celebrated 12 noon on Friday. Dr. Edward Rudiger will preside. Interment will follow at Saint John's Cemetery, Colliers, WV. Sis would like to thank Dr. Stephen Kuric, nurses and therapist at Trinity West and the doctors and staff at the Laurels of Steubenville for all their outstanding care and attention given to her in her life.
