Warren Bacon, 96, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Heritage Park. Born on November 4, 1920, in Indianapolis, he was a son of the late Armenius and Clara (Meyer) Bacon. Warren proudly served in the U.S. Navy for three years during WWII and was a member of the VFW and past Post Commander of American Legion Post 47. He was employed with Navistar for over 30 years, retiring in 1976. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his children, Roger Bacon of Kokomo and Cynthia (Robert) Chavez of Albuquerque, N.M.; four grandchildren, Nicholas Bacon, Nicole (Bryan) Cordes, Amanda (Luis) Aramburu, and Brandon (Jennifer) Kuebler; seven great-grandchildren; companion, Cathy Holycross of Fort Wayne; and former wife, Dorothy Bacon of Albuquerque, N.M. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Homer, Arvil, and Manuel Bacon; and sister, Helen Bilderbach. Funeral Service will be 3:00pm on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., Fort Wayne, with calling two hours prior. Calling will also be from 12-2pm (CST) on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Alexander Funeral Home- West Chapel, 2100 West Illinois St., Evansville, Ind. Burial at Bellefontaine Cemetery, Mt. Vernon, Ind.
