Wayne was born on May 13, 1927 and passed away on Friday, October 4, 2019.

Wayne was a resident of Davenport, Iowa at the time of passing.

He was raised in Blue Grass, Iowa, and graduated from Davenport High School in 1944.

He served in the US Navy until the end of World War II in 1946.

The family will welcome friends and share stories together during a visitation on Thursday, October 10, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, 614 N. Main Street, Davenport. The visitation will conclude with eulogies and a short prayer service for all who would like to attend. Additional visitation will begin Friday, October 11 at 9:30 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 916 E. Rusholme, Davenport. Funeral services and a mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle. Burial with military honors will follow at Rock Island National Cemetery on Arsenal Island. All are invited for lunch and conversation at St. Paul the Apostle following the burial, with thanks to the St. Paul Altar and Rosary Society for serving lunch. (Those not attending the burial are welcome to stay at the church hall between the funeral and the luncheon.) Visitation at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on October 10, 2019.
