Wayne Geoffrey (Jeff) Davis, Jr. died peacefully Thursday March 15, 2012 at 2:00 pm after a valiant struggle with cancer. Always known as Jeff, he was born December 14, 1942 in San Francisco, California while his father Wayne G. (Jeff) Davis, Sr. was deployed during World War II. He grew up in San Augustine Texas, New Orleans Louisiana and Crockett Texas. In his early years, he attended various special schools including Louise S. Davis School in New Orleans, and Evergreen School in Minden Louisiana.
Always an optimist, and a Saints fan, he loved Mardi Gras with a passion as well as fishing and his many, many friends. A southern gentleman and a Texas man, he had a smile that made you smile and everyone he met was known as his friend.
Son of Esther Greer Davis, and Wayne Geoffrey Davis, Sr., sibling to his beloved sister, Donna Louise Davis Fellom who died much too early. Nephews George, and Wayne and Niece Ann came into his life while still a young man.
Employed by the Times Picayune Publishing Co for over 20 years, he retired after hurricane Katrina, and was subsequently employed by Winn Dixie as a bagger which he loved. He was an honorary member of the San Augustine Rotary Club and Best Buddies.
Survived by niece Ann Davis McKendrick (Stuart), and nephews Wayne Roberts Davis and George Rawls Davis (Pam) as well as great nieces Taylore, Ryann, Megan, Greer, and Sarah and great nephew Sean.

Services to be held at FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 5401 South Claiborne Ave. New Orleans, La., on Friday March 23, 2012. Visitation 10-12 with services at 12:00.
