HANNA-Wendell W. Oberlin, 88, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Wendell was born December 12, 1929 in Herscher, IL to Willard and Lillian (Hayes) Oberlin and lived in the area most of his life. He was a life-long farmer and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Wanatah American Legion Post #403. Wendell thoroughly enjoyed his annual fishing trips to Star Lake, Wisconsin. One of his favorite past-time was spending hours mowing his lawn to perfection.

On December 13, 1958 Wendell married the light of his life Letitia Goetz, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Sherri Johnson of Wickenburg, AZ and Wendy (Dusty) Warner of LaCrosse, IN; six grandchildren, Letitia Czarnecki, Jennifer Czarnecki, Wendell Johnson, Caitlyn (Greg) Burciaga, Ross Warner and Jill Warner; four great-grandchildren, LillyAnne King, Kayla Hutton, and Bonnie and Billie Fencik; and one brother, Robert Oberlin of LaCrosse, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wallace Oberlin; and daughter, Linda Czarnecki.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Wanatah American Legion Banquet Hall. Family and Friends may gather at the legion from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The Service with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Friends of Star Lake (Star Lake, Wisconsin) or the Dewey Advancers 4-H Club (LaCrosse, IN).
