Wesley was born on April 14, 1927, in Rifle, Colo. In 1938, he moved from Colorado to Stockton, Calif., and worked in a box factory until he joined the U.S. Navy. In the Navy, he obtained some education and served in World War II and the Korean War.

After his service, Wesley became manager of the Lodi Winery in Lodi, Calif., and also served as a Trustee at Humphrey's College in Stockton, Calif.

Wesley's second marriage in 1985, was to Muriel Johnson. They owned a medical supply store "Valley Home Health Care Products," that they had to close in 1996 due to Wesley's ill health.

With Wesley's wonderful sense of humor, he was always joking. At family gatherings, everyone loved being around him especially children - his presence was a joy to all who knew him!
