Wesley "Wes" Edward Surgi entered into eternal rest Saturday, October 14, 2017 at his home in Slidell, LA. at the age of 77. He was a Native of New Orleans, LA. He was a resident of the Rigolets Estates in Slidell, LA. for 22 years. He loved living on the water. Wesley was a loving and devoted husband to the late Josephine Lesa Surgi for 53 years. He was devoted and the most loving father to Lesa Ann Surgi and Michael Louis Surgi. He was the proud and loving Grandfather to Ryan William Micklin. He is preceded in death by his parents Wilbur George Surgi and Margaret LeFevre Surgi and brother to Deborah Hogan and the late Craig Louis Surgi. Wesley was a Entrepreneur and founder of Surgi's Heating and Air Conditioning, located in Kenner LA. for 30 years. He won numerous awards from General Electric Corporation and Trane Air Conditioning Co. in the 1970's and early 80's for Top Sales in the entire Gulf South Region. In the period 1978-1981 he was the largest Trane Dealer in the United States. Specializing in New Construction, Wesley was instrumental in the building of Metairie, Kenner, Slidell and the Mandeville / Covington suburbs of New Orleans. In 1995, he sold the business, retired and moved to Slidell LA. and established Surgi Properties. Wes became prominent in the Commercial Real Estate Business in Slidell and the surrounding St. Tammany Parish area. He was a avid fisherman, sportsman and car enthusiast. Everybody that knew him, knew of his passion and collection of 1940 Ford Street Rod's and Antiques. He loved showing his collection to friends. He was a perfectionist and exceptional at everything he did in his life. He had a enormous heart and was a amazing friend to many. He will be sadly missed by many lifelong friends and Business Associates. Through this sad time, his family and friends share the devastating sorrow of his passing but also the feeling that we all have been Blessed to have known him. Please remember Wes for his love and devotion to his family, his generosity to others and his beautiful smile. Know he is at peace now with Josie and looking upon us with Love. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation and funeral services at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 1500 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA. 70124 on Tuesday, October 24, 2017.
