Wilford Theo Phillips, of North Charleston, passed away peacefully, December 7, 2017 at age 92. Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Monday, December 11, 2017 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, with the Life Well Celebration Service held immediately after the visitation in the funeral home chapel, burial will follow after the service with military honors at Carolina Memorial Park, all being held at 7113 Rivers Ave. North Charleston, SC 29406 Wilford was born February 15, 1925 in Booneville, Mississippi. Son of the late Everett Phillips and Hattie O’Neal. He loved the outdoors and spending time with loved ones and friends. He’s a member at Low Country Free Will Baptist Church. He served in the Coast Guard and in the Navy for over 25 years. Veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He was a Mason in Booneville, Mississippi, Lodge number 0305. Proceeded in death by his father, Everett Phillips, his mother, Hattie O’Neal, his two sisters, Marie Phillips, and Katie Henson, his three brothers, Joseph Phillips, Everett Todd Phillips, and Terry Phillips. Survived by his wife, Mattie Pearl Phillips, his three sisters, Frances Brinkley, Patricia Phillips, and Wynoka Phillips, his two children, Keith Phillips and Regina Phillips-Sullivan, his five grandchildren, Kevin Sullivan, Suzanne Becker, Stephanie Sullivan, Martin Phillips, and Stacy Sullivan and his four great-grandchildren Cayden Williams, Summer Connolly, Savannah Becker, and Mattie Olivia Sullivan.
