William E. Davis of Raymore, MO, passed away at the age of 87 on November 10, 2017. Bill was born on July 30, 1930 in Cedar County, MO. He graduated from El Dorado Springs High School in 1947. Bill married Doris Ford on July 16, 1949. They shared 68 years of marriage and had three children, Glenda, Gail and Scott. Bill was a devoted and loving husband, father and friend. He cherished the moments he was surrounded by his family, and wrote many poems about their lives. His legacy also includes 9 grand children and 12 great grand children.

Bill was a 45-year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 101. He began his career as a surveyor for the State of Missouri, advancing to heavy equipment operator, and then superintendent for 25 years until his retirement from Bowen Construction in 1992. Bill was involved in the construction of many highways in the Kansas City area also including major projects such as KCI and the Chiefs Stadium. After retirement, he enjoyed golf, wood working, reading and warm Florida vacations. As a young man, Bill played baseball with the Eldorado Springs team and later on the church softball team. He enjoyed watching sports as well and was a loyal Royals, Chief and MU fan.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Della Davis, Sister Aileene Bland and Grandson John William Reynolds. He is survived by his wife Doris, daughters Glenda Holman (Bob) and Gail Stroup (Harry) and Son Scott Davis (Krista); grandchildren Eric Reynolds, Ashley Keith (Kevin), Bethany Trumbull (Brian), Kamber Frost (Thom), Bryan Holman (Debbie), Ciera Turnbow, Garrett Turnbow, Erin Reynolds-Town (Ryan); great grand children Will, Addie and Eloise Reynolds, Keziah Keith, Brylie, Bryndle and Kyle Trumbull, Isaiah, Matthew, Oakley and Harry Frost, Addie and Tyler Town.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 14, 2017 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Floral Hills Funeral Home and funeral service from 2:00 to 3:00 pm. Burial will be at Floral Hills Cemetery.
