Waterville- William E. Grover Sr., 91, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2013 after a brief illness at MGMC Thayer Unit with his loving family by his side.

He was born on June 7, 1921; a son of Edmund and Rhoda (Murray) Grover. On July 17, 1943 he married his soul mate Roseline "Rose" White. He worked for many years as a meat cutter for Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Co. also known as A&P Co. William served his Country Honorably in the United States Army during WWII. He served in Ardennes, Central Europe, Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland. William was known for being a "Jack of all Trades", he enjoyed working around the house and loved fishing on his motor boat with his wife. He was a very loving and devoted husband, father grandfather and great grandfather.

William is survived by his loving wife Rose Grover of 69 years, his son William "Bill" Grover Jr. and wife Katherine (LaForest) Grover of Omaha, NE and daughter Mary-Anne Grover of Waterville,2 grandchildren; Lisa Grover and Todd Grover, a great grandson Trenton Grover, 2 sisters; Betty Kline of Nevada City, CA, and Lois Pratt of No. Ft. Myers, FL, his best friends; Christopher Rice, John White, John Nelson, Nicholas Rice, Nathaniel White, as well as many other friends, and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, and 3 brothers; Lawrence, Ted and Ronald Grover.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 20, at Redington Funeral Home from 6 to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 21, at Notre Dame Catholic Church at 11 am, reception will follow. Committal will take place on Wednesday, May 22, at 1 pm at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter. Those wishing to send Memorial contributions in William's Memory may do so to a charity of their choice.
