William F. Grady of Greenville, SC passed away on June 5, 2017.

Born in Wilmington, DE, he was a son of the late William and Mary Krel Grady. He lived in New York City, NY and resided in Miami, FL prior to retiring to Greenville.

Mr. Grady retired from British Airways after 20 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Greenville, and the Knight of Columbus, Msgr. Charles J. Baum, D. D. Council 13112, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Greenville, SC and the Knight of Columbus Holy Family Assembly 2502, Taylors, SC where he earned Sir Knight Fourth Degree, February 28, 2004.

He was a WWII veteran having served in the Navy, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marines, and was honorably discharged in December 1945. Mr. Grady received a Congressional Award, by authority of the Congress of the United States was honored and presented the Mariner’s Medal in token of injuries received when his ship was torpedoed by the enemy in 1943. He was a past member of James F. Daniel American Legion Post 3.

He was married to Margaret R. Robinson Grady of Taylors for thirty years and they remained friends until her passing in 2012.

Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Robert (Bobby) Reynolds of Greenville.

He was predeceased by a daughter from a previous marriage, Joan Cynthia Grady Sexton; two brothers, Charles A. Grady and John J. Grady; and a sister, Ann T. Grady Houtman.

A private rite of committal and final commendation will be celebrated on Saturday, June 10th with a private entombment to follow.
