William Harold Beck, 90 of Fordyce died Tuesday, March 31, 2015. He was born July 25, 1924 in Bradley County, Arkansas. He was a retired lumber mill sawyer, a member of Beech Grove Missionary Baptist Church for fifty three years; an active deacon and a Mason since 1963. He also served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Elizabeth Ann Beck; one son, Ronald Beck; two brothers and one sister. He is survived by one daughter Lyn Bounds of Bearden; two grandsons, Ronald "Scooter" (Paula) Bounds of Bearden, Rodney (Sherry) Bounds of Bearden; one brother, Wallace Beck of Crossett; one sister, Lois Ann Kendricks of Stevensville, TX; two sisters-in-law, Norma Beck of Hermitage and Jane Nowlin of Star City; three great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; his little dog Maggie and a host of other family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday at Beech Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Nathan Petty and Bobby Thornton officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements by Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. To sign the online register visit www.bentonfuneralhome.net.
