William Eugene “Billy Boy” Hizer, 60, of Red Star was granted eternal peace with his Lord on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 7:24 PM at UPMC in Pittsburgh, PA following complications from a long illness. He was surrounded by loved ones as he left this world behind.



He was born on January 14, 1956 to Freda and the late Eugene Hizer. He grew up in Brooklyn with his brothers and sisters.



Besides his father, he is preceded in death by three brothers: David, Michael, and Roger.



He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Connie, and their two children: Kessie (Mike) Underwood and Matthew (Michelle) Hizer; four grandchildren: Makala and Ian Hizer and Siera and Isaac Underwood; his mom, Freda Hizer (Roger Scarbro); and siblings: Mary (Mike) Harrah, Mae (Darrell) Martin, Bonnie (Harold) Smith, Roberta (Johnny) Pittman, and John Douglas (Shelia) Hizer. He will be missed by all that loved him.



Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Johnny Pittman officiating. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.



The family will receive friends from 11:30 am to 1 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
