William James “Jim” Patrick Sr., 82, of Fayetteville, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley.
Born on August 18, 1933 at Cunard, he was the son of the late Ruth Edith Kesterson Lawrence and Thomas Delbert Lawrence.
Jim proudly served his country in the US Navy and attended the Gatewood Church of God. He was a retired coal miner. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting and four-wheeling.
Besides his parent, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Betty June Day Patrick; and his sister, Nora Mae Patrick.
Survivors include his three sons: Jerry Patrick and wife, Rose, of Gatewood, Billy Patrick, Jr. and wife, Sandy, of Cunard, and Brian Patrick and wife, Susie, of Rainelle; five grandchildren: Christopher Patrick and wife, Jody, Amanda Patrick Dempsey and husband, Jeremy, Michael Patrick and wife, Erica, Stephanie Patrick Treadway and husband, Larry, and Matthew Patrick and wife, Hollie; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters: Janice Lawrence Blake and husband, Denvil, of Piney View, Thomas Lawrence of Warsaw, Missouri, Charles Lawrence and Rose Alvaraz of Fayetteville, and June Lawrence Kornatowski of Fayetteville; and a special thanks to his friend, Lindell Roper.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Entombment will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum, Oak Hill.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim’s memory to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley, WV 25801.
