William "Will" Vary, Nevada, Iowa, passed away October 21, 2016 at Israel Hospice House in Ames, IA surrounded by his loving family.

William was born June 29, 1967. He attended Ames High and Dowling High as well as Iowa State University.

He is survived by his parents Audrey Zarba and James Vary, his brother Brian, his brother Michael (Kerstin), his sister Maria (Matt), his wife Penni and his daughters Courtney, Kelsey (Jesus), Karisten (Buddy), Stacey (Greg), Stephanie and nine grandchildren. He is also survived by his grandmother Wanda Zarba and his stepmother Hildegard Vary.

William loved his family dearly and had special places in his heart for his children and his grandchildren. William's love of animals is legendary as is his fondness for motorcycles and bicycles. William worked primarily as a general contractor and master carpenter throughout the Midwest but is best known in his profession for his fast and accurate calculations in his head for complex projects. William also owned two construction companies and he holds a US patent for an all-weather line marker as its sole inventor.

Among his avocations, powerlifting and bicycling stand out. William will be missed deeply.
