William was born on January 18, 1945 and passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018.

William was a resident of Spartanburg, South Carolina at the time of passing.

Mr. Thrift was a graduate of Myers Park High School, and attended Campbell College and Charlotte College.

A visitation will be held at Dunbar Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 9 th from 5-7pm. The funeral service will be graveside at downtown Charlotte's Elmwood Cemetery on Wednesday, January 10 th at 11am in the family's Ormand plot.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials in his honor be made to a veterans association or to the charity of one's choice.
