William Lawrence (Bill) Miller Jr.



Bill Miller 88, of Charleston, passed away February 21, 2016 at Meadowbrook Acres after a short illness.



He was born May 14, 1927 in Charleston WV. He was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School. After graduation he joined the United States Army and served as a medic on a medical transport ship. After military service he worked as an auto parts salesman in the Charleston area retiring from A&I supply.



Bill was an avid car enthusiast having many show cars throughout his life. He was a founding member of the Doo-Wop car show in Charleston and was pleased with the growth of the show over the last ten years.



He was a member of the South Charleston Lodge 168 AFAM, 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, Beni Kedem Shrine Temple. He was a former member of the motor corp.



Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William Lawrence Miller, Sr. and Lethia A. (Legg) Miller, as well as his fiancé Dorothy Haynes.



He is survived by several cousins, children of his fiancé Dorothy and many friends.



A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2015 at Bartlett Burdette Cox and Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Berry. Burial will follow in the Beane Cemetery, Sissonville, WV. with Masonic graveside rites by South Charleston Lodge 168 AFAM. Family and friends will gather from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
