William Lee "Bill" Carson, Sr., 81, of Judsonia, died Tuesday, January 12, 2016. He was born December 23, 1934 in Judsonia a son of the late Everett and Altha (Thacker( Carson. Bill was a retired engineer and had been employed by Boeing and British Areospace. He was an avid golfer and a very talented oil painter. He was a member of the Masonic Golden Rule 90 – Blue Lodge for 55 years, a member of the Scottish Rite and a Shriner for 52 years and a long-time member of the American Legion. Bill was an active member of the Rocky Point Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Karen Carson; children, Bill Carson, Jr. (Debbie), Eydie Windle (Brett) and Melanie Purnell (Bobby); siblings, Francis Wooten, Mary Goff (Wayne), Larry Carson (Joyce), Rodger Carson (Marlene) and Glenda Meharg (Eddie); specila friend, Jimmy Graddy; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Laverne Homsley.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 15, 2016 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Bald Knob. Cremation will follow. Arrangements are entrusted to Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob – Judsonia.
