FLOYD, William Lloyd passed away on March 16, 2017. Born in McRae, GA, but lived most of his life in Tampa, FL. Lloyd "the best there is" Floyd, was preceeded in death by his wife of 46 years, our mom Mary Helen. He leaves behind his son, Robert Floyd (Gail); two daughters, Kathy Cianci (Tino) and Sharon Greene (Keith); granddaughters, Jessica Floyd, Shauna DesChamps, Jocelyn Sommers (Chad), Mary Johnson (Drew), and Savannah Cook; great-grandchildren, Derek, Dylan, Kacie and Gwendolyn. Dad also leaves behind his companion, Bobbie Coolbeth. They cared deeply for each other and we are so grateful to her for always being there for Dad. She is and always will be family to us. After serving in the military, he joined the Tampa Police Department. He retired as Major, after 23 years of service. He was a dedicated officer of the law, highly respected by fellow officers, and a long time member of the Fraternal Order of Police. After retirement, he successfully ran a small computer business, enjoyed playing golf, and square dancing. He was an avid listener of country music, loved to pick guitar and was ready to travel when anyone said "let's go". Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and Bobbie. He loved his family unconditionally and was fiercely proud of all of us. He never failed to let us know just how proud he was and how much it meant to him to have us by his side. Visitation Tuesday, March 21, from 5-8 pm. Funeral services at 2 pm Wednesday, March 22, Blount Curry-Carrollwood, 3207 W. Bearss Avenue, Tampa, FL
