William McKnight WARWICK- William "Willie" McKnight, 58, of 183 Orange Road, died on Sunday morning, July 18th, at Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield, following an illness. Born in Greenfield on March 25, 1952, he grew up in Warwick where he attended Warwick Center School, then went on to Pioneer Valley in Northfield and graduated from Greenfield Trade School. Willie was married to Pansey (Pike) on August 3, 1974 and would of celebrated their 36th anniversary next month. Employed by the Warwick Highway Department for 10 years, he previously had worked at the former Orange Foundry, the Phillipston Highway Department, and the L. S. Starrett Company in Athol. Following his retirement, he worked part time for Leader Building Supply. Willie loved his cat and dog, "Greta" and "Chubby". Known for his sense of humor, Willie enjoyed getting people going. He also liked the Boston Red Sox, NASCAR racing, collecting hats, classy cars, trucks, and tractors. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Survivors include his wife, Pansey McKnight of Warwick; a brother, Kevin McKnight and his wife, Linda, of Orange; a sister, Marian Brostek and her husband, Kevin, of Winchester, NH; nieces, Leanne "Bo" McKnight of Orange, Sarah Brostek of Winchester, NH, Ellen Lamoureaux of Millers Falls, and Emily McKnight of Warwick; nephews, Kevin "Bud" McKnight Jr. of Orange and John McKnight of Warwick; aunts and uncles, Rachel and Roger Bergquist of Warwick, Esther and Earl Redman of Abilene, TX, Harold and Pat Copeland of Rosindale, and Ann and George Fifield of Gilsum, NH; several cousins, grandnephews and grandnieces. Willie was predeceased by a brother, John B. McKnight November 18, 2004 Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 22nd, from 1-2 p.m. at Witty's Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 22nd, at 2 p.m. at Witty's Funeral Home in Orange, with Rev. Dan Dibble of the Metcalf Memorial Chapel in Warwick officiating. A graveside service in Warwick Center Cemetery, will be held at a later date and time to be announced.
