McGUINN, Wm. Patrick "Pat", age 85, of Centerville passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2012. Pat was a 1945 graduate of Cedarville High School, a 1950 graduate of Indiana University where he earned a Bachelors of Science degree, and a 1957 graduate of Salmon P. Chase College in Cincinnati where he earned his Judicial Doctorate degree. He was employed as a Referee in the Probate Court of Montgomery County from 1960-1962, was at a private practice of law from 1962-1965 where he practiced primarily probate and real estate law. Later Pat worked as Assistant County Prosecutor in the Civil Division of Montgomery County from 1965-1966, and then as Assistant City Attorney for the city of Dayton from 1966 until his retirement. He was enlisted in the Army Air Corp during WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post #598 and the Knights of Columbus. Pat was a member of Church of the Incarnation in Centerville. Preceded in death by his wife, Marie Louise McGuinn in 1966, and his sister, Martha McGuinn. Pat is survived by his children, William Patrick (Elaine) McGuinn II, Kevin Kelly McGuinn, Timothy (Kari) McGuinn, Mary McGuinn, Stephen McGuinn, James Patrick McGuinn; grandson, Patrick Eugene Freeman; former wife, Barbara J. McGuinn and her children Butch, Kathy, Mike, Tom, Susan, Sandy, and Bob; and his very special friend, E.T. Kunke. Family will greet friends from 5:00-7:00pm on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at ROUTSONG FUNERAL HOME, 81 N. Main Street, Centerville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Church of the Incarnation, 7415 Far Hills Ave., Centerville. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. The family invites friends to join them for a reception following the burial at the American Legion Post #598, 5700 Kentshire Drive, Kettering, OH 45440. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be given to a charity of your choice.
