Mr. William Ray Miller, 57, of Burnt Cabins, PA died at 8:15 P.M., Tuesday, July 14, 2009 in Manor Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Chambersburg, PA.Born September 1, 1951, in McConnellsburg, PA he was the son of the late Vivian and Goldie Mae (Naugle) Miller. He lived his early life and attended schools in Fort Littleton, PA.Mr. Miller served in the US Army from 1970 to 1973 with a tour of duty in Viet Nam.He was employed as a carpenter working on commercial construction sites throughout the East coast. He was a member of a carpenter's union.A favorite pastime was fishing.He is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Lynn Ferguson, her husband, Shawn, Hagerstown, MD; a son, Kirk Allen Miller, his wife, Brenda, Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Alexis Ferguson, Kaleb Ferguson, Sam Ferguson, and Syna Miller; sisters, Carol Taylor, Fort Littleton, Shirley Kerlin, McConnellsburg, Nancy Peck, Fort Littleton, Cathy Shope, Indiana, PA and Barbara Pollock, Gettysburg; brothers, Randall Miller, Fort Littleton, Richard Miller, Houstontown, Pierce Miller, McConnellsburg, and Steve Miller, Three Springs, PA; and a number of nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister, Jane Lester and a brother, Robert Miller.The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M., Friday July 17, 2009, in The Fort Littleton Bible Church, Fort Littleton, PA. A Celebration of Life will begin at 7:15 P.M. with Pastor Deborah Strait as celebrant.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to The Fort Littleton Bible Church c/o Clara Mae Strait P.O. Box 463, Hustontown, PA 17229.Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro was in charge of the arrangements.
