William was born on April 9, 1938 and passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017.

William was a resident of Nashville, Tennessee at the time of passing.

He was a veteran of the US Army and a member of the Pugh Mountain Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include, his wife, Linda Firestone; three children, William S. Firestone, Jr. of Nashville, TN, Roger Firestone and wife Kelly of Nashville TN and Teresa Castle and husband Mike of Chilhowie, VA; brothers, Robert Firestone of Marion, VA, Herbert Firestone of Marion,VA, Steve Firestone of Marion, VA; sisters, Brenda Umbarger of Atkins, VA, Bonnie Meadows of Marion, VA, Kay Robinson of Seven Mile Ford, VA; grandchildren, Meagan Anderson, Joshua Jones, Hayley Jones, Jayson Firestone, Jaden Firestone, Aidan Richardson, Cayden Castle and Conner Castle; five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2PM Sunday at the Pugh Mountain Freewill Baptist Church in Marion with Reverend Herman Cress and Reverend Jimmy Hopson officiating. Interment will follow in Attoway Cemetery with full military honors being rendered by the Francis Marion VFW Post 4667.

Flowers will be appreciated or memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
