Dr. William Wallace Brentlinger, 89, passed away March 1st, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Ruth Brentlinger. He is survived by his sister, Frances Joiner, his two sons, William and John, their wives Kristin and Lorri, grandchildren, Tyler, Lauren, Anderson, Damon and four great grandchildren.
Wallace was born in Sapulpa, OK. He married Ruth Brown in 1957. They raised their family in Midwest City, OK before moving to the Kansas City area in 1983.
“Wally” was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran. He attended Tulsa University and the Osteopathic College in Kirksville, MO, where he became a physician. He was also an accomplished businessman, licensed pilot, writer and minister; but practiced his true calling as a healer in Midwest City and Kansas City until his retirement in 2001.
During retirement he pursued is passion for naturopathic medical research, growing rare iris flowers, photography and spending time with his growing family. With a deep and abiding love for our Lord Jesus Christ, he was a long time member of The Gospel Fellowship Church in Grandview, MO. Wally will be remembered fondly as a healer, counselor, and friend to all.
Services will be held at Floral Hills Funeral Home, Kansas City, MO on March 18, 2017. Visitation will be at 1pm with memorial service immediately following at 2pm.
