Willie Mack Turner passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Fellowship Home. Mr. Turner was born February 13, 1932, in Valdosta, Georgia to Willie Alvin Turner and Rose Marie Burch. He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Mary Lynch; brothers, Jimmy Turner and Harry Turner and sister, Betty Moore. Survivors are his wife, Runette Van Ausdall Turner; daughters, Linda (Calvin ) Fussell, and Sherry Lewis; grandchildren, Tracey Phillips (Tony Lumley), Calvin , Jr. (Angel) Fussell, Teisha Mathis, Samantha Fussell (Fernando Trejo); great grandchildren, Jonathan Denison, Savannah Phillips, Daileigh Fussell, Stephen Fussell, Valencia Fussell, Zackery Bradford, River Mathis, Lyric Cantu, Harmony Cantu; five step children, five step grandchildren and eight step-great grandchildren. Mr. Turner enjoyed fishing and was an avid gardener. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was genuinely caring and generous. He leaves an emptiness in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lake Park. Mr. Turner was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and had served in the US Army in Guam. He worked with Owens-Illinois for 17 years before moving to Oklahoma where he worked and retired with Weyerhauser. Services will be held at McLane Lakewood Funeral Home on Saturday October 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends one hour at the funeral home prior to the services on Saturday. Burial will follow at the Lake Park Cemetery. Pastor Robbie Harrington will officiate.
