Willie (Mae) Swinson was born on August 3, 1942, to the late George and Mary White. She departed this earth on Saturday, March 3, 2018.

She attended the Alameda County Unified School District, where she graduated from the Alameda Adult High School. She was employed by the Baltimore Biological Laboratories, while later moving on to become a Liaison with the Montgomery County Government.

She married her honey, James Sherard Swinson on March 27, 1982.

She enjoyed word puzzles and multiple games on her iPad Tablet, such as Bezzled and Bubble Shooter. She was a mother to all of her children's friends and treated them as if they were her own. She loved shopping and traveling. She was also an avid reader who enjoyed learning new things. The most important factor to her was spending time with her family. She will be continuously loved and missed by all with whom she came in contact. May her beautiful soul and spirit rest in peace.

She is preceded by her daughters, Loretta Pettaway, Mary Ellen Pettaway and her sister Judy Boyd. She leaves to cherish her loving memory: Her husband, James S. Swinson, her loving children, Curtis Lee Pettaway, James Earl Pettaway, Cynthia Denise Winters, Robert Allen Blackmon, James S. Swinson Jr. and James S. Swinson Jr. (JJ). Three brothers George White, Curtis White and Willie White: seventeen grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
