Willylea Eubank Phillips

July 6. 1924 - December 22, 2017

Willylea "Peggy" Phillips was born in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, on July 6, 1924, to LeRoy Eubank and Susie Margaret Redditt Eubank. Her father worked for the Florida East Coast Railway and she spent her earliest years living along the east coast of Florida from New Smyrna Beach, Stuart, White City, Miami to Kenansville.

She is survived by her son, James E Phillips, Ormond Beach; two daughters, Mary Phillips, Orlando and Jan Nash, Longwood and her three grandsons, Timothy, Mark and Michael Phillips.

She was an electronics inspector, starting in the 1950's at Radiation, Inc. and ending in the 1990's at Repco in Orlando where she made many friends with her coworkers.

Peggy was an only child and lived away from home to attend school. She said she often got lonely but learned to entertained herself by sewing, tatting , crocheting, playing solitaire with actual cards, and later playing solitaire on her computer. Not many moments went by that she didn't multi-task.....often watching television and crocheting.

On February 1, 1950, she moved to Goldenrod where she lived out the rest of her life on Seminole Avenue, two houses inside Orange County. She was caregiver to both her parents. Her loving daughters and dear friend, Lindsey Bahnhoff, were her caregivers for the last four and one-half years.

Her Eubanks' descendants resided on Amelia Island in 1783, as recorded on the East Florida Spanish Census. Even though she was an only child, both parents were from large families. She have numerous cousins that she loved as sisters and brothers.

The Family wishes to thank you for all the prayers, visits, and acts of kindness during her illness. We ask that you do not send flowers. If you feel so moved, donations can be made to: Kindred Hospice of Orlando, 4776 New Broad Street, Suite 2, Orlando, FL 32814.
