Wilma Jean Botts, 89 of Muncie and formerly of Markle passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Elmcroft Nursing of Muncie. Jean was a 1943 graduate of Markle High School. She and her husband, Cedric owned and operated Botts Jewelry in Markle for many years until a fire destroyed their store in 1970. She was a former member of Markle Church of the Brethren. She closely followed her grandchildren and great grandchildren's activities and was a caregiver for family members in many instances over the years.

Jean was born on March 20, 1925 in Markle, a daughter of Mcbride and Goldie (Earhart) Richardson.

She was united in marriage to Cedric R. Botts on December 25, 1943. He preceded her in death on January 2, 1998.

Survivors include a son: Patrick (Jane) Botts of Muncie; two daughters: Neenah (Ken) Dressler of Marysville, TN; Chris (Jeff) Scheel of Sacramento, CA; nine grandchildren: Erica (Jason) Bucholtz; Benjamin Botts, Adam Botts, Amy (Darin) Orendi, Shelly Baker, Justin Bates, Aaron (Mike) Blum, Jasen Botts, Raven Botts and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son: Michael Botts, a daughter: Nilah Botts, two sisters: Elnora Thomas, Juanita Tester and a brother: Jack Richardson.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2015 from 1:00 ''' 3:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee Street, Markle, Indiana.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at 3:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee Street, Markle, Indiana.

Interment will be at the Markle Cemetery.
