Wilton was born on October 8, 1927 and passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017.

Wilton was a resident of North Carolina at the time of passing.

A true Southern gentleman, Dr. Joyner, was born in Greenville on October 8, 1927, and was educated in the Pitt County schools, graduating from Winterville High School in 1944.

From 1946 to 1948, he served in the United States Navy.

The funeral service will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park. A member of the Washington Masonic Lodge #675 A.F. & A.M. in Washington, NC, Dr. Joyner was also a member of the Greenville Golden K Kiwanis and was the longest standing member until his death.
