Winnifred Eunice Duncan, (affectionately known as "Winnie" to many) quietly passed away in Frederick, Maryland on November 20, 2016. She was 90 years old. Winnifred was born March 09, 1926 to Eleanora Ramasar and Anslem Jorsling in Trinidad W.I. She was preceded in death by her siblings Marion, Viola, Barbara, Leonard, and Clifford. Winnifred was married to the late Joseph Duncan on October 08, 1949 and resided in San Fernando, Trinidad, W.I. Winnifred worked as a librarian for 25 years before immigrating to the to the United States in 1971, where she became a Naturalized citizen in 1977. Winnifred attended City College of New York, worked as an Accounts Payable clerk for different agencies before accepting employment with the IRS New York office. In October 1984, she transferred to the Washington DC office, to be closer to her daughter and grandson in Maryland. Winnifred received numerous awards and commendations, while acquiring many new friends, during her tenure at the agency before retiring after 25 years of service. Winnifred loved to travel, she was an avid traveler both domestic and abroad. Some of her overseas travel included Canada, Barbados, England, France Germany, and Italy. While traveling, she focused on visiting cultural and historical sites. Winnifred enjoyed cooking her native dishes, listening to gospel and country music, going to the movies, and looking at old Western movies on television. She also enjoyed going to the casinos with her "partner in crime" her niece and god daughter Karen Ruiz. Winnifred was baptized a Catholic and always said she would die a Catholic. She was a member of St. Dominic Catholic church in Washington, DC. When Winnifred found it difficult to attend mass every Sunday, she watched the mass via television. Winnifred prayed faithfully for her kids, grandkids, other family, and friends. She leaves behind to cherish her memories Sons: Kenrick, Gerard, Richard, and Daughter; Sandra Daughters -in -law: Esther, Hortencia, and Gemma. Son -in -law: Raymond. Grandchildren: Tanisha, Tammy, Renee, Laveria, Wanetta, Michael, Jourdan, Salah, Maylasia, Jonathon, Ramon, Rhea. Winnifred also leaves behind eight Great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, and many dear friends and extended family including: The Jorsling, Pierres, Codringtons, Duncans & Arthurs. Dorothy Robinson, Patricia Jorsling, Merle Clarke, Elsa Phampille, Nellie Henry, Linda Guide, Mrs. Barrow, Marjorie Feveck, Ursula Raymond, Wayne Allard, Yvonne Torres -Ajago, Mrs. Granger, Christeen Smith.
