Celebration of Life

On Sunday December 25th 2016, Zakiya and Reece welcomed the birth of their daughter, Xenia Abela Charles at the Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, VA. She weighed 7lbs 37ounces, with a height of 20 inches and was born with a full head of beautiful jet black hair. Even though she was a few months old she was granted her beautiful angel wings surrounded by her family on March 4th 2017. She touched so many in several ways throughout her short yet very memorable life. Xenia's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Her gentle gorgeous smile could melt the hearts of those around her and though she never spoke a word, her voice and thoughts could always be heard. She loved to be cuddled and not put to lay down, and the way she looked at you, you saw that happiness and comfort in her eyes. She loved music, enjoyed playing in the water during her bath time, didn’t like being dried off and was always playfully kicking her feet. With Xenia's passing we remind others that her life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss her every day especially her winning smile, she will forever remain in our hearts. Through her teachings about life, we were able to create wonderful memories and it has been a privilege to be a part of her life. Xenia is survived by her loving parents Zakiya Francois and Reece Charles of Trinidad WI. Grandparents: June Andrews-Honesty, David Francois, Eric Honesty, Hayden Charles and Cheryl Inniss. Aunts and uncle: Nailah Francois, Asabi Francois, India Francois, Wendy Augustine, Bernard Glaude, Alisha Innis-Lewis, Micah Charles, Joshua Charles and Omari Orie.

Viewing will be held from 9 am until time of funeral service, 10 am on Saturday March 18th, at the New Life Worship Center in Capitol Heights, Maryland. A repast will be held after the interment, back at the church.
