Haughton, LA - A service celebrating the life of Zara Janette Dreher will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Haughton with Dr. Gevan Spinney and Dr. Scott Teutsch officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends for visitation on Friday, December 1, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home.
Zara was born on March 14, 1978 to Darel and Shevawn Riddle. She was a 1996 graduate of Haughton High School and a 2005 graduate of Louisiana State University receiving a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.
Family, faith and friends were the most important things to Zara...not necessarily in that order. Zara married her high school sweetheart and best friend, Jeremy Dreher on June 19, 1999. They welcomed their first child, Chandler in 2007 and later a daughter, Olivia in 2010. Zara's faith and strength helped build a strong foundation for her children that will last a lifetime. When asked how he would describe his mother, Chandler said that he will always remember her as a gentle, kind, loving mother who was both courageous and strong - a fighter and a keeper of the faith. Olivia will always remember her mother's hugs and kisses and love - a pretty woman who loved her no matter what. Zara and Jeremy shared 18 years of love and faith.
Outside of her family, Zara was a strong and faithful friend. She was a strength to many and loved by a lot. She was always there for them with a kind word, a hug, or a quirky comment that showed her incredible sense of humor. If you were a friend to Zara, you were a friend for life. She did not take those relationships lightly.
Above and beyond her family and friends, Zara's faith was the most important to her. Zara truly loved the Lord and did not hesitate to share his grace with anyone that she came in contact with. As an active member of First Baptist Church of Haughton, Zara served her Lord. Throughout her battle, her faith did not waiver. Zara's faith and strength in the Lord even on her weakest days have served as an inspiration to all that came in contact with her. To the very end, Zara embraced her Lord's will with faith, dignity, and grace while accepting her home going.
Zara was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Bert and Ruth Chandler, and her paternal grandfather, James T. Riddle. She is survived by her husband, Jeremy Dreher; children, Chandler and Olivia Dreher; paternal grandmother, Janette Riddle; parents, Darel and Shevawn Riddle; sister, Karry Aldridge; brothers, Joshua Riddle, Joseph Riddle and Jonathan Riddle as well as a host aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Houston, Dustin Hickman, Scott Bayne, Christian Duke and Chad Wise.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Riddle, Joseph Riddle and Jonathan Riddle.
