Obituary

Zona Jeannine Kimble Berry, daughter of Carson and Nonah Kimble was born on January 6,1929 in St. Paul, Minnesota, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. She was the wife of the Rev. Charles H. Berry, Jr. for over 67 years.

Zona was preceded in death by her brothers, Donal Kimble and Gordon Kimble. She leaves a family legacy through her daughter Kristine Riojas and her husband, Rudy Riojas; and her son Paul Berry and wife, Pamela Berry. She has three granddaughters: Jennifer Riojas Shelby and husband, William Hunter Shelby; Stephanie Riojas Russom and her husband, Keith Allen Russom and Dr. Amanda Berry Hill and her husband, James Clifford Hill. Three great-grandchildren: Noah and Charles Shelby and Julia Russom.

Zona was a devoted Christian and was a current member of St. Boniface Episcopal Church in Comfort, Texas. Zona was employed at several jobs in San Antonio. Her most pronounced ministry was her time as the Director of the Episcopal Student Center, commonly known as Canterbury House on the campus of San Antonio College. She was affectionally known as "Lady B" throughout her time at Canterbury House. In addition, she worked in the main office of Bill Miller Bar-B-Q as Office and Systems Manager for 15 years. She retired in 1992.

Zona loved to travel and was very involved with the Avion Travelcade Club. She became the Secretary Treasurer in 1996. Zona and Chuck spent many years crisscrossing the US and Canada in their RV, making friends throughout the country.

Zona's family would like to express their gratitude for the care provided by the staff of Hill Country Memorial Hospice.
