On September 25th, 2017, following a heart attack, Mr. John M. Lea, 84, passed away. He was born July 3rd 1933 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the 82nd Airborne then moved to Palm Springs in the 1960's. He also worked for the postal service for over 30 years. He was a Life Time Member of the American Legion Post 519 as well as a member of other organizations and served on the Palm Springs Cemetery District for a number of years. Viewing will be on October 3rd from 5 to 6 PM, with a service to be held at Palm Springs Wiefels Mortuary at 10 AM on October 4th. Burial will follow at San Gorgonio Memorial Park in Banning. He is survived by his wife, Gay W. Lea, daughter Carolyn Lantz and her husband Howard, two granddaughters Kelsey and Michele Lantz and great-grandson Caden.
