COLUMBIA - Services for Hazel DuPre "Jack" Moore, 90, will be held Tuesday at 3:00pm in Park Street Baptist Church with burial in Bush River Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Monday 6-8 pm at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel.
Mr. Moore died Saturday, December 24, 2011. Born in Columbia, he was a son of Dozier Theodore Moore and Maggie Belle Branham Moore. He was a navy veteran of WWII and retired from the US Postal Service. Mr. Moore was a member of Woodmen of the World, Park Street Baptist Church, the Men's Sunday school class and an avid woodworker.
Surviving are his wife of 72 years, Lucile "Lucy" Burt Moore; sons, Jack Moore (Barbara) of Mt. Pleasant, Bruce Moore (Linda) of Charleston; daughter, Susan Gunter (Tim) of Chattanooga, TN.; grandchildren, Jackie Moore (Mike Blau), John Moore (Kirsten), Kim Martin (Bill), Joshua Moore, Jenny Eaves (John), Anna Leonard (Jason), Meghan Herndon (Mark), Kaitlin Gunter, Timothy Gunter, Jr., Caroline Gunter, Elyssa Gunter and Rebecca Gunter, 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lois Abrams of Clinton and Joyce Cook (Robert) of Irmo. He was predeceased by a brother, Willie T. Moore.
