Plymouth, MA Police Officer Gregory T. Maloney, age 44, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 as a result of a Motorcycle accident while on active duty. He was the beloved husband of Susan J. (Skowronek) Maloney of Plymouth. Born in Chicago, IL, on November 4, 1969, he was a son of Robert Maloney of Plymouth and the late Vilma (Civita) Maloney. He was educated in Plymouth, a graduate of Plymouth-Carver High School, Class of 1987 and received his Bachelors degree as well as his Master's Degree in Criminal Justice from Western New England College . He joined the Plymouth Police Dept. in 1997, where he has proudly served the community for 17 years. Gregg was an avid car enthusiast. He was a member of the Plymouth Police Relief Association. Besides leaving his wife Susan, he was the loving father of Gregory Todd, Maloney, Jr. and Michael Christopher Maloney both of Plymouth. He was the cherished brother of Robert W. Maloney and his wife Angela of Raleigh, NC, Kristyn A. Fabyanski and her husband Mark of Long Valley, NJ, Timothy M. Maloney and his wife Kimberly of Hoboken, NJ. Visitation will be held in Memorial Hall, 83 Court St., Plymouth, MA 02360 on Monday, April 7, 2014 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Peter's Church, 84 Court St., Plymouth, MA on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Vine Hills Cemetery, Plymouth, MA. Donations in his memory may be made to the Officer Gregg Maloney Memorial Fund, c/o Rockland Trust Company, 1 Pilgrim Hill Rd., Plymouth, MA 02360.
