Laura Frances "Nan" Wilson, born February 18, 1920, passed away on July 20, 2009, at E. Carlton Powell Hospice Center in Lillington, NC.Laura grew up in Cedar Falls community near Asheboro, NC and lived on Harbor Island at Wrightsville Beach, NC for 45 years. She was a member of Wrightsville United Methodist Church, Wrightsville Beach, NC. In September, 1997 she retired after 30 years as School Crossing Guard for Wrightsville Beach Elementary School. Laura lived at Champions Assisted Living from 2007 to 2008. In November 2008, she moved to Sanford Health and Rehabilitation Center, Sanford, NC.She was preceded in death by her husband Fredrick Franklin Wilson and daughter Judy Ipock.Survivors include one son, Larry Franklin Wilson and wife Linda, of 2971 Lower Moncure Rd., Sanford, NC; four grandchildren, Holly Boyer and husband Bill, of Wrightsville Beach, Craig Wilkie and wife Melissa, of New Bern, NC, Sarah Wilson Davis and husband Patrick, of Crosby, TX and DeAnne Curtis and husband Danny, of Wilmington, NC; eight great grandchildren, Lily Boyer, Ella Boyer, Chance Smith, Hayden Davis, Whitney Curtis, Megan Curtis and Shana Ipock; one sister Golda Hall of Greensboro, NC, and one sister-in-law Elizabeth Phillips of Asheboro, NC.The family will receive friends from 6-8:00pm, Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at Andrews Mortuary Market St. Chapel.A funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, July 23, 2009, at Wrightsville United Methodist Church. The Rev. Laura Mitchell will officiate.Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
