William Alvin Davenport, age 70, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2009 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. Alvin was employed by the State of Tennessee as a Computer Systems Analyst. He served in the U. S. Army and was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Davenport and Eva Spray Davenport. Alvin is survived by his wife, Elaine Henderson Davenport of Murfreesboro; two daughters, Terri (Chuck) Lane and Amanda (Leonard) Courteaux both of Murfreesboro; two brothers, Wayne (Theresa) Davenport of Bon Aqua, TN and James (Sandra) Davenport of Amarillo, TX. Alvin was also survived by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Alvin will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, November 9, 2009 at Jennings & Ayers with Bob Tuttle officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday at Jennings & Ayers, 820 South Church St, Murfreesboro, TN 37130. (615) 893-2422
