Sidney John Francis Sr., 81, a native of Dulac and a resident of Patterson died, Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 1:40am at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
Sidney is survived by his six children, Kathleen ‘Kathy’ Francis Dinger and her husband, Kirk, of Bayou Vista, John K. ‘Kellen’ Francis of Morgan City, Sidney J. ‘June’ Francis Jr. and his wife, Sabrina, also of Morgan City, Julianne ‘Julie’ Francis Dinger and her husband, Rodney, of Patterson, Pamela Ann Francis Allen and her husband, Brad, of Plaquemine, and David A. Francis and his wife, Barbara, of Houma; two sisters, Josephine Chapman of Desoto, IL, and Corine Paulk of Houma; a brother, Nolan Francis; 15 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and one step great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Alcess and Corine Duthu Francis; four brothers, Clifford, Delvin, Joseph, and Antoine ‘Tee’ Francis; and three sisters, Elnora Billiot, Eva Dion, and Malvina Landry.
The family requests that visitation be observed Monday, April 4, 2011 from 9am until time of funeral services at Ibert’s Mortuary in Patterson with a rosary being prayed at 11am.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 4th at 12noon at Ibert’s Mortuary in Patterson with Reverend Amanda Carpenter officiating the services. Burial will follow in the Berwick Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to alleviate funeral expenses. Donations can be sent to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. P.O. Box 236 Franklin, Louisiana 70538.
