Spece
Darlene F. Spece, 81, of Lancaster, PA, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 24, 2011 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Abner and Florence Bechtold. She was married to the late Kenneth Kilgus who died in 1968 and the late William Spece who died in 1999. Darlene is survived by a daughter, Jody M. (Randy) Rosser, Lancaster; a stepson, Larry (Georgia) Spece, Millville, DE; a stepdaughter, Judy (Skip) Duke, Manheim Twp.; 3 step grandchildren; a sister, Mary (Raymond) Snyder, Lancaster; and a brother, Harold (Mildred) Bechtold, Lititz. Darlene was preceded by a brother, Paul Bechtold; 2 sisters, Millie Stover and Janet Suydam.
Darlene was a retiree of the Lancaster Newspapers, where she worked for over 20 years. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Darlene enjoyed dancing, bowling, knitting and spending time with her friends. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Anne's Retirement Community for all they did for Darlene.
Life Celebration Services will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 500 Pearl St., Lancaster, PA 17603 on Tuesday, Nov. 29th at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Redeemer Lutheran Church.
