Carleton W Lauridsen, age 88 of Oconomowoc, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 20, 2012. Carleton is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mabel Faye Lauridsen of Oconomowoc, WI, children Fred James (Delores) Lauridsen of Omaha, NE, Dr. Robert Dean (Cynthia) Lauridsen of Oconomowoc, WI and Dr. Karen Ruth Laurd-Towers of White Bear Lake, MN, brother Ken (Mary) Lauridsen of Henderson, IA, grandchildren Fred (Honey) Lauridsen, Jr. of Omaha, NE, Mel (Dr. Debbie) Lauridsen of Oviedo, FL, Jamie Towers and Devon Towers, great grandchildren Gabe Lauridsen, Aubrey Lauridsen and Madisen Lauridsen, along with other relatives and friends. Carleton was preceded in death by his parents Jens and Karen Lauridsen. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 27, 2012 at St. James Methodist Church in Sioux City, IA at 1:00 p.m. Carleton's final resting place will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, IA. If desired, memorials may be made to St. James Methodist Church.
Carleton was born on September 17, 1923 in Sioux City, IA to Jens A. Lauridsen and Karen Rasmussen. He attended and graduated from East High School in Sioux City, IA. After graduating he served his country in the U.S. Army 8th Cavalry. He was a U.S. Postal clerk for 35 years. Carleton's hobbies included amateur radio, stamp and coin collecting. He was a member of St. James Methodist Church, American Legion Post 697, and American Postal Workers' Union. Carleton and Mabel have lived in Oconomowoc, WI at Wilkinson Woods for the past 4 years.
