Dorothy R. Hood April 7, 1930 – February 20, 2012 Dottie passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family into the waiting arms of her Lord and Savior, and her loving husband of 50 years, George Lee Hood. She was born in Maud, Oklahoma to Grace Lou and Melvin Clyde Roberts. They moved a lot and finally settled in Richland in the 1940's. She graduated from Richland High School and later worked as a bookkeeper for General Electric-Hanford. In 1950, she married the love of her life, George Lee Hood. They shared 50 years together and built a home together. Dottie loved dancing, CB radio, bowling, camping and working in her flower garden. She enjoyed socializing with many life-long friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Dottie is survived by three sons, Melvin, Mark, and Mike; and one daughter Terry Hernandez (husband Clemente); special brother and sister-in-law, John and Donna Hood; ten grandchildren Dwayne Hernandez, Michelle Serrano, Christina Quinones, Andy Hernandez, Carlos Hernandez, Tyler Hood, Dereck Hood, Travis Hood, Sarah Hood and Shane Hood. She also had eighteen great-grandchildren. The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to Daniella and Carlos for helping with care and Dr. Enrique Carter for care and pain management. In lieu of services there will be a viewing on Thursday, February 23, 2012, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union Street, Kennewick.
