GILBERT
Mr. William A. Gilbert, Sr. of Grand Rapids, born August 10, 1941, a U.S. Marine Corp veteran passed away Friday, March 16, 2012. Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Caroline, eight children: William, Jr. and fiancee Jan McKay, Mike and wife Stephanie Gilbert, Paulette Cypher, Eric and wife Jennifer Gilbert, Melissa Gilbert, Andrea and husband Robert Shock, Julia Gilbert and fiance Silas McNeal, Kimberly Gilbert and fiance Jxn Hoogeveen; 12 grandchildren, two sisters Sue Gilbert and Marie Flowers, nieces and nephews. William retired from G.M. (36th Street Plant) Wyoming after 271/2 years of service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at St. James Catholic Church at 11am. The family will receive visitors Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm at the Arsulowicz Brothers West Mortuary, 585 Stocking, NW where a Rosary will be prayed at 7:30pm, and Tuesday at church one hour prior. Memorial contributions to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital will be appreciated.
