Marcella D. Sweeney, 93, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at St. Anne Home and Retirement Community in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Marcella was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, The Foresters, Daughters of Isabella and past president of the Bishop Dwenger Mothers Club. She also was a Baker at Bishop Dwenger High School Cafateria and a driver for J J R . Surviving are her sons, James (Linda) Sweeney of Fort Wayne, Joseph Sweeney of Lake James, and Jerome (Joni) Sweeney of Spencerville, IN. daughters, Rose Mary (Thomas) Freeman of Fort Wayne, Suzanne Hageman of Laotto, Elizabeth A. (Richard) Sherman of Howe, IN, and Sallie A. (Ron) Troyer of Topeka, IN. 18 grandchildren and many great grandchildren . Marcella was preceded in death by husband, George J Sweeney, son, John Sweeney, great granddaughter, Haley, and brother, John Pearson. Mass of Christian Burial is Friday, 10:30 AM, March 23, 2012 at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church with calling one hour prior. Calling also Thursday, March 22, 2012 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue. with the Rosary, at 4:30 pm. Burial in Catholic Cemetery , Fort Wayne, Indiana.
