Viola Collins was born May 19, 1952 in Biloxi, Mississippi to Mary L. Howard. Viola resided in St. Louis, Missouri where she was employed with the Division of Family Services (Prince Hall) for many years. She was very kind hearted and took great pride in her work. She accepted Christ into her life at an early age and attended church regularly. Viola was a member of Solomon Temple Church for 25 years under the leadership of Bishop James E. Holloway. She served as an Usher; volunteered in Clayton Prison Ministry and STC Home Care Ministry for many of those years. In 2003 Viola became a member of Gospel Power Christian Church under the leadership of Pastor Willie G. Holloway. She served as an usher and then she was ordained in March 2004 as a minister. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary L. Howard; daughter, Latoya Michelle Collins; brother, Lawrence Charles Johnson; sisters, Rosie Lee Walker and Juanita Ann Howard. Viola departed from this life on Thursday, December 1, 2011. She is survived by her sister, Mercedes Howard; brother-in-law, Willie Walker Sr.; nieces, Stephanie Howard and Mary Walker; nephews, Kenneth Walker and Willie Walker Jr.; also great nieces, nephews, and friends.
